This is my review of the Jack White Blunderbuss vinyl release, 2012. This album marks Jack White’s solo debut record, after a successful run with the White Stripes. Blunderbuss was released under White’s own label, Third Man Records.
Blunderbuss finds Jack White experimenting with many genres, with positive results. A combination of blues, garage rock, country rock, and folk make it an enjoyable ride. The album garnered critical acclaim as White was nominated for 3 Grammy awards – Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, and the single ‘Freedom at 21′ was nominated for best rock song.
Jack White really showcases his talents on this one, songwriting is top notch, and his guitar playing is second to none. Popular singles of this album are ‘Love Interruption’, ‘Sixteen Saltines’, ‘Freedom at 21′ and ‘I’m Shakin’. They are great tunes, but my personal favorite is the title track.
The sound quality on the Jack White Blunderbuss Vinyl is outstanding. White himself is a vinyl enthusiast , produced the record himself, and I’m sure he wanted to make sure he put out a quality product to his fans. I highly recommend this. Blunderbuss was the top selling record of 2012.
